another shot taken with my craptastic disposable... but you're looking at the Lady's foremast, and all of its complicated rigging. pretty nifty, innit? ^^
and now time for the confession... I did tone down the saturation a bit in this one. and why is to get the feel of a lost, new sailor staring at the rigging and wondering how he'd ever learn it all. one line looks just like another, until your eyes and hands learn to tell the difference. granted, the blue sky and mast would look vastly different then the rigging... but the feel of sameness is what I wanted to get across. (and actually, I wanted to outright make it black and white, but then it would've looked too confusing, methinks) -- but anyway, I didn't think a simple lessening of saturation was enough to put this in photomanipulation, so here it stays.
...and question, am I the only one who the ratlines are calling to right now? *desperately wants to climb aboard a ship and go aloft*
I like the message in this photo. It's like modern art meets photography meets ship rigging.
And the ratlines are calling me too. I wanna climb up and hang off the side with the wind in my face like Jim Hawkins in Treasure Planet.
Bravo! Lovely shot, mate! I do love how you toned the saturation down, because it really does add to the whole "new sailor" feel. Wonderful photo!!
I have to say, looking at the photograph, and remembering the slight rocking motion of the Lady's deck, feeling the wind (though admittedly not the sea air) whip my clothes about, and seeing the sails unfurl like wings, flapping about in the evening breeze....it all really does make me want to go aloft as well...but I'd simply settle for going on tour with her.
I think I'd agree with you there... *goes into daydream land just reading OTS's words and thinking of the Lady* I'd be insanely happy with just walking about her deck again. but I think the ratlines will always call to me. ^^

Si vis pacem, para bellum. ...through the thunder and the waves we're sailing on!
Um...no, actually it's a movie (which Ted and Terry wrote!) based off of treasure island, but puts a neat science fiction spin on it. Most characters and everyone have the same/similar names, and the plot is similar except for the fact it's sci-fi. (and that they took several artistic liberties)

At least ur happy with it. haha. It's okay, nothing compares to today when I had to discover nasty mold cheese in a forgotten drawer in our fridge. i seriously almost threw up. At least I didn't have to actually touch it.

Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
DeviantArt is full of extremely well produced artistic fashion and fine art photographs. Make up. Styling. Creation of scenery. Story. Light. Glamour. A combination of these expressions sometimes make up a great photograph. But the protagonists of these pictures are usually female.
So... now it's the time for male models to come into focus.
